It's so nice to be back home...but at the same time, I definitely did not want to leave Florida! The weather was just starting to be perfect...I could have stuck around for much longer! But now that I'm home I get to share our awesome vacation with you!
Vacation started on Thursday the 10th. We drove Miley out to the in-laws where she would be spending the week. On the 11th we started the real vacation! The drive from Raleigh to Savannah was only 5 hours long...shorter than we thought it would be. And I had some super yummy roadtrip food...Dunkaroos! Remember those?
We got to Savannah around noon, checked into the hotel, and headed out for a fun-filled-day of drinking...OR SO WE THOUGHT!
Our first stop was the Moon River Brewing Company. We had some awesomely cheesy nachos, Danny drank "Nick's Balls of Gold," and I had two Roadtrip Hard Ciders...and man-oh-man...they hit me hard and fast.
Our next stop was Wet Willies. We each had two super strong and super delicious drinks and took the mandatory tourist photo.
At this point it was only 5, I was exhausted and feeling super old. We headed back to the hotel to rest before our ghost tour....we set the alarm for 7:00. I passed out. At 9:30 Danny shot up out of bed...and I was so out of it that I was convinced we could still make our ghost walk. Needless to say...we didn't. We ordered pizza...I passed out again and slept like a baby all night. The best part of falling asleep at 5:30PM? You're hangover hits around midnight...and is completely gone by the time morning rolls around!
I had every intention of doing much more in Savannah..but my body had other plans for me. But it was vacation..no expectations and plenty of time for napping. Just means we'll have to go back again!
And in my short time in Savannah...I made a very interesting observation. Savannah smells much worse than Jersey. Just a little FYI! Here are a few more pictures we snapped around the city....

Jersey doesn't smell. Just because you've driven down the turnpike doesn't give you a right to make ignorant comments.
ReplyDeleteI've done more than drive down the Turnpike. thank-you-very-much.
ReplyDeleteAW...sorry that your time in Savannah wasn't all that you had hoped. Maybe the next time you come through...
ReplyDeleteI am hopping over through Michelle's blog when I saw that you wrote about Savannah :o) We live right outside Savannah, courtesy of the Army... My hubby is a retired chopper pilot and although we do like it here...my heart's dream is to move closer to where we think our grown kids will settle in-Kentucky.
Blessings & Aloha!
My current post is about my hubby and my day in Savannah....would love if you get a chance to stop by and if you do, please leave a comment so that I know that you were there.
I remember Dunkaroos!!! It's been a long time since I've had those!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a really fun trip. I enjoyed looking at your photos on facebook! I'm so ready to go to disney!! :)
Glad your back!
Georgia does smell. So does Jersey. So does that one road on base. Oh and this one part of NY smells pretty bad too.
ReplyDeleteThat anonymous commenter needs to get a life. Just because you say Jersey smells doesn't mean you're picking on them. BESIDES you did say that Savannah smells worse than Jersey. So technically it's a compliment.
I do love your blog as you know Nicole, and you are free to say whatever you want on here...it's your blog. But I'm from Jersey. I love it here. And it doesn't smell. I'm just tired of everyone judging our state all the time. We didn't do anything! Leave us alone!
ReplyDeletehahahahahahaha. grouchy comments make me laugh!
ReplyDeleteEveryone's entitled to their opinions, so the anonymous person shouldn't take things so personally.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love all the drink pics. It makes me want to go to a brewery...like now. :) And I love dunkaroos!!
Savannah does smell... I remember thinking that when we went. And is that a picture of the turkey/brie/cranberry sauce sandwich from Moon River Brewing Company? I've been craving that sandwich since September!
ReplyDelete1. DUNKAROOS!! OMG!
ReplyDelete2. Jersey does NOT smell! Not if you venture outside of Newark anyway.
Just a little FYI for everyone. In my opinion Jersey DOES smell, so does 95 in Maine, wet dogs, Puckers, and paper mills. NOT the point of the post.
ReplyDeleteOh man those drinks from Wet Willies look DELICIOUS!!
ReplyDeleteThose drinks make my mouth water...yumm-o!
